Hi there, I’m Stewart Harris, pastor at Rivers Baptist. My wife Susan and I joined the team at Rivers in February 2009. I come from a trade background working as a motor mechanic for 17 years before training for vocational ministry which I have been involved in for the past 10 years.
We have two adult sons, Sam and Joe, a daughter-in-law Amy and a border collie named Ollie. I’m a fairly typical Australian male who enjoys sport (strictly watching these days!), good movies and spending time with people especially if there is food involved! I have a laid back approach to life and find great satisfaction helping people find their destiny in Jesus. |

My Name is Stuart Russell and I am the Associate Pastor at Rivers Baptist. Since my wife Rachelle and I and our family began our time at Rivers in January 2010, we have found the church family to be generous, genuine, welcoming and keen to be a blessing to others. This flows out of a desire to be a people who not only believe in Jesus, but also share his hope and life with others, both in the community and within the church. With such a variety of age groups, life stages and backgrounds amongst us, I look forward to the great and good things God will continue to do through us and and in our local community. |

My name is Margaret McKay. I am married to Bruce and we have 4 great kids, one that we gained when he married our eldest daughter . We also have a Kelpie/Labrador cross called Lucy, who firmly believes she is one of the family too.
We have been a part of the Rivers family for about 8 years and happily call this Church home. I have a love of Netball and although I no longer play the game I am a keen spectator. I have been a season ticket holder for all the National League games for many years now. Some could say it is just an excuse for a girls day out!!
My role here at Rivers is varied. I work in the Church office for 2 1/2 days a week. I look after all the Child safe program, blue cards and lots of general administration work. A lot of my time is spent working with the many ministries of Rivers and helping them achieve all that they need to. I love to help people reach their potential and I get many opportunities to do that each day. |

I have now been attending Rivers for the past 14 years. God blessed me over a 38 year work life with the skills and resources to be able to take an early retirement so I can serve the Church as Administrator. Together with my wife, Sue, we seek to just be a part of the overall life of the church. Sue is involved with the worship team as a piano/keyboard player, and we also seek to help out wherever we can in other ministries. I also enjoy being on the welcoming team for our AM services. This is a great way to meet people and to extend fellowship to both existing and new people to our church. I love this aspect of our church and see that over past few years we have become a much more visitor friendly church. When not working at the Church Office my time seems to fill up with our grandchildren and our daughters & son. We enjoy our family get togethers, often around a roast meal or a BBQ lunch, and are fortunate to be able to participate and see our family growing up. Sue & I have also been able to travel since my “retirement” and we have been blessed to see so many parts of God’s creation around this world, which air travel has now made so accessible. But we really love “coming home” to our family and to our church. |
