Dear Praying Friends,
God is good but life is not always easy. We are very thankful for a very restful 2 week holiday last month. However, we are both experiencing bouts of anxiety already. Please pray for us as we work through the following situations.
• A physio from Steve’s course died in a motorbike accident on the weekend. Please pray for his young wife (well known to our team member, Fiona), the other physios (that they would be encouraged to think more eternally), as well as Steve (who is having anxious moments travelling to work on motorbike).
• Searching for and renting a new place to stay. We’d love a cool, mosquito proof, three bedroom townhouse with a roof / play area and close enough to walk to school. It’s a bit of a tall order and we need it by the end of this month!
• Joel and Emma are on school holidays (6 weeks to go) which makes packing more difficult and puts a spanner in Lisa’s plans for holiday projects with the kids. Pray that it would be a good time of connecting and learning anyway.
• As always, we’d appreciate wisdom in our relationships with various Khmer friends who face various challenging situations. Please pray for Vutha who has a new better job but has been making unwise decisions and getting depressed, Phanarath who is now running a hair salon (unsuccessfully), and some not-yet-Christian friends Sotheavy who is out of work and Vy who is pregnant with her second child.
• And also, pray for the country of Cambodia as they face national elections on the 27th of July. So far, there has been less violence and intimidation than previous elections (as there is a quiet confidence in the outcome). Pray for a peaceful election campaign and a trouble-free election day.
Thank you for remembering us and the people of Cambodia. We all need it!
Blessings,
Steve and Lisa
