Hi all,
Thanks so much for your faithful prayers. It has been very significant for us and our ministry lately. We would like to again encourage you to pray and thank God for the following.
• Praise God for a good start to the school year for Joel (grade 3) and Emma (grade 1). Praise God for the teachers who are willing to serve this way and pray for the new teachers that they would quickly adapt to life in Cambodia.
• Praise God for a smooth transition into the new house… which we now concede is even better than our last place! God is good. There is a play area next door, and we are loving the extra room upstairs for visitors. Pray for good relationships with the landlord, and restful and productive visits, particularly for those coming in to Phnom Penh from the provinces.
• Pray for Steve as he begins supervising the next training module – neurology (ie stroke patients) at Calmette Hospital. Working in a hospital environment is not easy, particularly for a well-qualified out-sider who seeks to provide far higher standards of care and practice. Please pray specifically for good relationships with the local doctors so that they would acknowledge the physio’s role and refer sufficient numbers of patients.
• Pray for Joanna, a volunteer physiotherapist from Australia here for eight weeks, who will supervise training in paediatrics. Pray for a smooth transition, good health, good relationships with the Khmer physiotherapists and plenty of work to keep her busy.
• Pray for Hiep and Tokyo that they will make the fortnightly Saturday night dinner and discipleship time a priority on their calendars. Pray for Lisa as she provides the physical food, and for Steve as he prepares the spiritual food.
• Pray for Vutha to stay close to God. Pray also for Steve and a church elder who meet fortnightly to encourage him. Pray for Vutha’s brother who will soon stay with Vutha, that he will get more committed to God and that God will heal him from Hepatitis C.
• Lisa and Noah are heading back to Australia on Thursday to attend her Father’s wedding. Going to Australia is always challenging on so many levels. Please pray for God’s peace and presence and that she would return to Cambodia refocused and refreshed from quality time with family. Pray also for Steve with Joel and Emma who will continue at school over the two weeks she is away.
• And always, please pray that we will continue to connect with God daily so that we are rooted and established in Him as we minister to others with His love.
Again, thank you for your prayers. You are a great blessing to us.
Steve and Lisa
