Booking rooms or equipment at Rivers? Wondering what to do?
Prior to an event/meeting:
- Ring/email the church office Monday to Thursday, 9 am – 3 pm, to ensure availability of rooms.
- Book in date, time, contact name and all equipment required.
Note: If a key and PIN code is needed, this process takes several working days to organise.
After the event:
- Furniture: Return all furniture to the correct spot. Generally tables and chairs are stored near the walls of each room. (Please don’t stack the chairs too high.) Each room has a list of the furniture it should contain on the wall near the door. (Soon we will stick a coloured symbol under each item to easily identify the room to which it belongs.)
- Electrical equipment: Please return to the Resource Room (Room 7) immediately after use. This room has special security measures to protect these items.
- Cleaning: It is the responsibility of ministry people (not the cleaners) to ensure that rooms are left clean and tidy. A vacuum cleaner can be found in each room. There is also a mop and bucket and vacuum cleaner kept in the hall in the small room at the stage end.
- Rubbish: Please place all rubbish in the bins near the shed. Remember to recycle as much as possible in the yellow top bins (not plastic bags, not pizza boxes) so that there is enough room in the green bins for other rubbish that cannot be recycled.
- Air-conditioner: To save on electricity costs, please ensure windows and doors are closed whilst the air-conditioner is operating. When you go to leave, check that it has been turned off (there is a remote control mounted on the wall near the light switches) and that all internal & external lights are switched off and everything securely locked.
As we grow in numbers and size and as more and more ministry events
occur, we hope that if everyone returns things to the correct places it will make things easier for the next user. And if everyone lends a hand to do the work before they leave a meeting, it will make the job a lot easier, especially for our hard-working ministry leaders.
