At the Blokes Shed Night

Belong

A few weeks ago (7 March), approximately 34 men, young and old, came together at the Gynther’s shed for a BBQ dinner and some fellowship. The mosquitoes were been bad but a few strategically placed lanterns kept them away!

Dinner was lovingly prepared by ex-chef Michael Wilson and ex-bank manager Jim Gailer. Rib fillet was the order of the day, along with farm fresh eggs and all the trimmings. This was followed by cookies and cream and double-choc ice-cream (and coffee and tea, of course)!

Some table tennis was played by a few not-so-good table tennis players.

Don showed a video of some different facets of his life, along with a short story of an event in Vietnam in which his unit had to be withdrawn due to the large numbers of enemy soldiers in the area.

Peter Douwes (originally from Holland) also gave us an insight into some of his exploits along life’s journey. We look forward to hear more from Pete in the not-too-distant future.
So when is the next Shed Night? You’ll just have to watch this space!
