West-Newman Update - 3rd July 2008

BringWest-Newmans

Dear Praying Friends,

God is good but life is not always easy. We are very thankful for a very restful 2 week holiday last month. However, we are both experiencing bouts of anxiety already. Please pray for us as we work through the following situations.

West-Newman Update - 1st May 2008

BringWest-Newmans

Dear Praying Friends,

Apologies to those who were concerned that they haven’t heard from us for some time! I (Lisa) got myself too busy and am just trying to create more balance in my life (once again) and catch up on my “to do” list.

Your prayers are significant to our effectiveness here. You will notice a number of answered prayers from our email request in February… Praise God!

Thank you and bless you for journeying with us!!!

Prayer up-date for the West-Newmans - 12th February, 2008

BringWest-Newmans

Dear Praying Friends,

We have been meaning to write quick up-dates to our prayer supporters for a number of years now but other things have always gotten in the way. However, we know your prayers are crucial to our effectiveness here and we want to write at least once between newsletters… we and our friends need it!

Steve has just closed his clinic at Veterans’ International to prepare for a new course beginning February 25.
• Praise God that he was able to end well after treating many patients and staff there, as well as providing financial assistance for patients in dire need. Pray that his witness there will have a lasting impact.
• Pray for the 18 new physios who will begin the physio up-grade program that they will be ready to learn physio techniques that could greatly improve the treatment of patients and that they will be ready to hear through Steve of an even greater Healer.

Building in Progress

For a cross-cultural worker, the first three years are often spent learning more than actually contributing to the country. Let’s call these the “foundation years”.

We are now starting to build on the foundation of language, networks and cultural understanding. It’s great to be making some progress and seeing results.

News from the Clinic

Although Steve has been assisting some particularly difficult patients (see photo), he has also been achieving some success with the assistance of the project funds given by many of you.

Connecting with Cambodia - Oct already!

BringWest-Newmans

Dear Praying Friends,

Thank you so much for your prayers and support that has been so obvious since our last prayer note. God is good and we are all almost totally well (only Noah has a niggling cough). Steve has started work and Lisa is getting everything a little more under control (hence the attached newsletter). Our friend’s husband also has recovered from the surgery and is now undergoing a course of chemo…. Please continue to pray that he would find life abundant through all this.

Thank you and bless you so so much,

Steve and Lisa

A quick note from the West-Newmans

BringWest-Newmans

Just want to send a quick hello to all our faithful prayers. We are now settled in to Phnom Penh life again and have had our good and bad days. We have had a few bad days lately which is why the newsletter is not done yet. Please pray that we can begin to thrive here as a family and that sickness would not weigh us down, nor the many other little annoying things about living here.

Dear Friends,

There’s nothing like a good dose of change to keep us on our toes – returning to Australia (and the world of iPods, MySpace and ?), a new baby, and now a new newsletter format provided by Global Interaction. Our “Hands and Feet” are being given a well-earned rest. Our focus for the next term is to keep you connected with the work and people in Cambodia. So, please let us know if you cannot open the Acrobat Reader version and we can send it in Word.
